good food, good wine, good company at rh in the andaz west hollywood.
the chef served us up a smorgasbord of small plates that included a little bit of everything on the menu: pan fried oregon mushrooms served with garlic and sea beans... endive salad served with hudson valley cured duck breast, walnuts, and sliced pear, in "la nogalera" walnut oil... perigourdine poached egg with field mushrooms, foie gras, and black truffles... lompoc farm leeks in a vinaigrette topped with shaved black truffle, fresh goat cheese, and crispy applewood bacon... niman ranch roaster veal sweetbread puff pastry served with artichokes, bacon, shallot and madeira wine sauce... lobster open ravioli in bisque sauces... market fresh fish served on a bed of sauteed vegetables... slow-braised beef cheek with button mushrooms and rainbow carrots... 12-hr-cooked boneless suckling pig with artichokes & rosemary jus... homemade crispy hudson valley duck leg confit with sauteed potatoes, green onion, and garlic paisley... warm chocolate cake (a la mode, so i barely partook), rum baba, and pineapple mint sorbet...
contemporary french cuisine made from locally-grown ingredients. and it is definitely safe to say that i wasn't partaking in a vegan diet that night.
oh, and i've decided that when i'm sick of modeling, i'm retiring and becoming a foodie.
